Description

Metal gate, which I've posted before, this time captured 5/16/11, early in the morning, within walking distance of my apocalyptic abode. Better viewed full size. Saturdays are slow on the Renderosity viewing and comment front, at least for me, so I dug this up out of the files just for old times sake. I love this old gate, and must have over fifty shots of it. An addiction each time I venture upon it that I can't overcome. The variation in color and brightness of the last foto compared to the top four pics is due to it being taken over an hour later on my return trip, after the sun had risen higher in the sky. Cheerio, thankx for tuning in, and for any and all favs and complimentary comments.

I hate the way metal rusts. It looks like they just tried to paint over rust, and that never works. Caught very well, Harry.

What wonderful peeling shapes, constantly changing with the weather! I can see why you can't pass it by, there's so much to see, and as the light moves the shadows morph into new designs. Great collage, Harry!

Oh yes, as morningglory suggested, the owner did actually paint over the gate without eliminating the peeling, chipping and rust. LAZY. But the paint did dissipate and wash off after a while, leaving the gate back where it was before that futile effort.

Laziness and sunshine have created some great patterns and textures. Some great shadows too. I like the forth image where some of the paint looks like it has no connection with the gate and just hasn't realized that yet and dropped to the ground. Great images!

Alot of houses here actually looked like that after a hail storm we had back about a month ago, I actually went out into my yard after and collected some to save, they were the size of golfballs and very hard I have seen hail before but usually the type that melts quickly never realized how hard it was I wouldn't have wanted to be outside during that, there was a lot of damage to so many cars here too. Nice image.
