Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

I love rivers. I particularly fell in love with the Vltava--and fell in it once, but I blame Pavl for that one. Of course, I grabbed him and pulled him in too, and laughed at squelchy, squishy sound his sandals made as we walked back to his apartment. But anyway, this isn't about Czechs making squelchy noises as they walk through Prague at night, leaving river-footprints behind them. But still, that memory was evoked. (That was a good night, by the way; it was hot, and so lots of people were "falling" into the river, and then meandering into bars, still dripping. Pavl and I just walked around and looked at weird sculptures in the night.) And it's hilarious how this image conjured something so unrelated, all because of a river. Ah, but rivers do that, you know. This is such a Mark Image...It's the overall layout. The frames within frames, and the only "real" differences are the layout (horizontal rather than vertical) and that they're YOUR images...but the flavor is the same and I like it immensely. I'm quite interested in visiting the Eel river too...I like the name. I love these shots and the way you've put them together. The shimmer is amazing. And to top it off, it's a perfect dedication.

Marilyn---I just saw this now. (My internet has been out, so I hope this gets onto your page!) Thank you so much for this, it's beautiful! And thank you for your thought & wishes! I'm just returning to RR, and hope to visit everyone who remembered me when my father passed, and I will write back to everyone who was so kind to me then, I haven't forgotten a soul. I'll do that in the next few days. But I want to thank you today, for thinking of me & remembering me with one of your & my favorite images---water & everything around it. I know the river has been one of your personal paradises (among many) in the same way Lake Michigan has been for me. Thank you for thinking of me with this! And this week I'll be getting to everyone else---I haven't been back on this site in 4 months, and it feels like I've been gone a year or more. Thank you Marilyn, this was wonderful. Keep communing with the places you love, you do them all proud, everyone of them!
