Description

My thoughts, on my month, in Scotland: The people were amazing! So helpful, willing to show the way and offering rides to a stranger. As I mentioned before, the Pubs were a big surprise for meeting locals, friendly service, hints on where to go and the best way to get there. The train system beats every aspect of the US train system and again I met so many wonderful people. I used the trains from Glasgow, Scotland to London. I hiked the length of Glen Coe in the Scottish Highlands and would recommend it. I also tried to hike across Rannock Moor. The book said it was 20 sq miles (52 Sq km) and I was forced to give in and go back. It is a mass of peat bogs, underground streams, small locks (lakes), boulders, tree stumps, mud holes and all the dark brown areas in my posting – are dead and petrified brush that tears jeans and flesh like razor blades. My only disappointment was a canoe trip on the famous Loch Lomond where I saw abandoned castles and medieval style homes that had fallen into disrepair and should be or maybe have been condemned. I hope that you enjoyed my photo trip and it pains me that I did not have todays digital camera to have provided a proper view. Thanks for stopping by my gallery, taking a look and for all your previous favs and comments. They are very much appreciated. Dana

Thank you for sharing your trip with us, I have really enjoyed seeing all the pictures. Amazing colours in these two shots but what a shame one can't walk here.

Wonderful nature and landscapes you have captured so well, Dana. Yes, it was a joyful trip and I hope I go to Scotland, Edinburgh in one or two years. Beautiful presentation of this country! :o)
