Description

For Scienn_sconn, one of the forum users on d20radio.com where I am Lead Mod. He requested an NPC picture for use in his campaign & I took him up on it. (Does this count as my first commissioned piece?) All I had to go on was a post on another site with a few movie stills (?) & what he wanted different. I got in some more practice with posing & expressions. I was also trying to depict the little villainess being caught in the beam of a security light as she tried to make her escape, after tripping some alert device. I like the way the biker boots turned out for this render, but they weren't my first choice. I tried Daz 3D's Tall Lace Up Boots for V4, which I love the look of & really wanted to try--but I could not adjust them to fit over the Shadow Dancer pants. After trying to scale the boots, fitting them to the pants (instead of V4), and making the pants shins invisible (it made too much invisible)--I just decided to try the Biker Boots. Anyone have any tips for the next time I run into this? Models: Level 19 (Stonemason) V4 Teen Ashley (Daz3D) V4 Shadow Dancer (Daz 3D) V4 Bodysuit Expansion Biker Boots (Daz 3D) Whip for Kattiva (Arduino freebie, Renderosity) Software: Daz Studio 3 Advanced Signature is the only postwork ******** A personal note here. This project got delayed by a very sad event. As a few of you may know, I am Blackstone61's wife. Last month, he posted with his latest upload that his mother was ill. To our sorrow, this wonderful lady did not recover. She passed away 7/13 & we all miss her very much. It's only in the last 2 days that I made myself finish this request. It was very hard to get started again, but I am now eager to try some projects I've been thinking about for a while. Including figuring out Carrara 6.2.

Looking pretty good for an action pose :) Yeah, I'd say its probably your first commission / request piece :) Doing requests can be fun can't they? Its also interesting how things turn out sometimes with mixing and matching, when your aiming for a particular look - that not of your own choice but what would best fit the request, then only have to scrounge around for other alternatives when you hit a snag. You just have to keep at it and "creatively" work around little things like that. There is a work around for the ShadowDancer pants (or any other pants or shirts) and that is to make yourself a custom transparency map that'll hide an area of the clothing when you need an area hidden (an area when hiding the bone segment of the clothing won't work). That's a little more advanced, and involves Gimp, the specific clothing template file, and some trial and error. Something I'll have to show you sometime. Our (belated) condolences to your family.
