Description

Volume I - Episode 59 Where: Kraĭ (The Brink), Gorod Drevnih, Russia When: 2 years before E-Day, 10:20 am Roni was truly, absolutely, monumentally, in awe. "I can't believe I'm here," she whispered. Kraĭ - the enormous gate known as The Brink - towered overhead, flanked on each side by the gigantic city walls that snaked their way across the mountain-side for as far as the eye could see. "This is it," she told herself. "This is actually it." She flinched as thunder shook the natural stone bridge beneath her feet. Above her, the dark blue storm clouds of The Veil raged and boiled, concealing the mysteries of the wall from all who tried to see. Roni took another step closer, and instantly her sense of wonder turned to dread. There, at the base of the wall, the black path that surrounded the entire city came into view, filled with the skeletons and wrecked machinery of all who had dared come too close. Nothing lived on that path. It was an impenetrable barrier that stopped hearts cold. It was The Dead Zone. A chill ran down Roni's spine.
