Description
I was much younger in August 1983 and I crossed the Golden Gate Bridge and climbed up on the Marin Headlands. Most photos of the bridge are from the San Francisco side. This POV gives you the bridge and the city. The tanker passing under the bridge gives you some perspective of the size of the center span. The bay itself is also huge and you can only see a portion with this view. Not my best shot through the haze and then recently scanned. Still working my way through my odds and ends file. Zoom is actually a clearer view.

Yes,we were ALL a lot younger in 1983! (LOL) What a totally majestic shot this is! I've never seen the bridge/bay/city from this angle before and it really is an eye opener. Kind of like being on a sound stage while a movie is being filmed and getting to see the off screen work going on. The panoramic vista of this shot is really amazing and the DOF seems to go on for literally MILES. Fantastic work!

I lived at the Presidio for two years in the early 70s and never climbed to where you took this picture from. Thanks for the view I missed 40 years ago:)

in 1998 I was at the same vantage point, but I had a not so desirable camera and very hazy conditions.outstanding shot if I ever go back to SF I plan on walking at least half way across the bridge
