Description
On my second visit to Indonesia I had enough money to fly from Bali to Jakarta, the capital city, on Java. No more ferry boats for me. As a bonus I was able to take this picture of Mount Bromo (Gunung Bromo), the major volcano in Eastern Java. Mount Bromo is an active volcano and rises 7,641 feet (2,329 meters) above a vast plain called the "Sea of Sand", a protected nature reserve since 1919. It has errupted as recently as 2010.
