Description
Greg was an amazing guy who had the most incredible body and a lifetime of devotion to all forms of martial arts...the ground shook as he went through his movements or katas.... I had many shoots with him....
I wanted this to have a small old world grainyness to it, to add the hard nature of his being....
it is quite cathartic to go through these old files once again
cheers

Wonderful shot

Powerful shot, where every detail seems perfectly and carefully chosen for this capture... The background with those heavy packs, the light falling from the side, the model's focus, pose and his whole appearance... Stunning result! I'd rather see this photo in a Pirelli calendar than those eternal bony supermodels... I have told you already, and it's worth repeating - you should start working with your camera again, mate! A five foot nothng associate of mine who did Kyokushin karate (full contact) in Tokyo, regaled us over a beer one night about a six foot six Israeli girl who came to learn self defence at the same Dojo. Ever tackful he craned his neck backwards and enquired "who on earth in their right mind would attack someone as big as you?" Reading your story of Greg brought this memory back — love the contrast of textures in this study as well as the lighting, not many eyes can see either when looking through a lens, that is a rare talent nicely expressed

I say yes to everything Vashek said! Hugs O.

Brilliant...but would have limited appeal in the greeting card industry...haha! Then again it might appeal to certain horny old ladies...sorry - I'm in a weird mood this morning! I need coffee I think.

A stunning portrait! The light, pose and added textures make this really fantastic.

Where do I start... The whole composition down to every little detail, like he's not looking at the camera but somewhere just below it, just works so well! The lighting brings out his upper torso so well, every muscle just pops out at the viewer! Countered by the wonderful contrast of his Gi bottoms where luxurious texture folds give way to almost blackness before the lightness of the wooden floor pulls it back again! The way you light males to accentuate their physiques is awesome! If you can do the same with the female form in a way that appeals to the 'age' then Pirelli can indeed be yours! Take up you camera and go get Pirelli! Martin

Very nice work. This guys body looks so sculpted, it reminds me of those you only see in those older Martial Arts Video games. Great lighting and PP treatment as well. The whole look of this image is top notch.

Oh geez. Oh geez. This guy is super hot. What a bod. What form. Love the lighting to show off his muscles. Great pose with the numchucks. That background is brilliant. Really great photo here. Awesome job!

Very Nice

I like the light on the fabrics. The dark trousers ground the figure nicely and the low-sat treatment suits it. The pose is good, too, accentuates the body-builder's egocentric self-image. He's clearly not as he sees himself....about as threatening as a hamster in boxing gloves, with the hidden depths of a puddle in the pavement. Nice abs though.

you couldn't be further from the truth Pantalone my friend......His physique is from years of dedication and you could not find a more humble, wise and sharing person than the man in this photograph! and with regards to threatening..... he breaks bones with punches, he shakes buildings with his movement...hell yes he is threatening...
