Description
...Both Tara (auntietk) and I have uploaded quite a few pictures from Sedona, Arizona (13 by my last count) since we visited this neat mecca for artists, photograhers and tourists in April.
...digging through my files I found three images that fit nicely together to show you how the city interfaces with one part of the landscape.
...although I haven't labeled them, there are three well known features that are prominently seen in this pano on the north side of Sedona.
...they are from left to right, Chimney Rock, Capital Butte (a.k.a. Thunder Mountain) and Coffee Pot Rock.
...I took the images for this pano from a vantage point above the city on Airport Mesa facing north.
...All the architecture in Sedona is designed to blend well with the Red Rock/Southwest desert setting. Sedona has the only McDonald's fast food restaurant in the world without "golden arches"...the city said yellow would not mesh...McDonald's offered turquoise and the city agreed!
