Description

Went on a hunt for what a group of dragons would be called and found flight, weyr and wing. Weyr sounds the best so that is the title. I got textures from Daz for the Subdragon and they are very beautiful! Unfortunately, even though I updated the model, apparently the update didn't include the wings, whatever it is that causes the ugly artifacts when doing a quality render. I spent quite a bit of time turning things off trying to alleviate the problem. Wound up changing nodes in the material room and, for the most part got rid of it. Still had to do a bit of postwork, as it just won't completely go away. Sad that one has to go to so much trouble to use a model in the way one wants. So, back to the Weyr. My dragonrider now has a team to lead. The black one is the Alpha Dragon. Not the biggest of the group, but definitely the leader. The lovely blue one is a female. She is SO pretty! The green one is the Beta male, and content to be so; he'll tell you straight out, he won't lead. That doesn't mean he isn't smart; in fact, he's the most cunning and sly, not to say he's shifty, but these qualities make him a good right hand ma...er...dragon. The big red dragon is an older fellow. Not that old, but more experienced than the rest and content to follow the leader. Very wise and rather laid back, as you can see. The one in back would be the point m..dragon, I guess is the right term? Not sure, but he's always on guard and very, very much aware of what's going on around him. The female seems to have spotted something... "What's that?" she says in a whisper. Everyone turns to look. The Alpha instinctively spreads his wing over her for protection, as the Beta springs to his feet to determine what danger there may be. Big Red, seemingly unconcerned, watches the others, though he's always ready for any action. The Point, after glancing to see what's coming, swings around to make sure there isn't anything else coming from another direction... I really need to come up with some dragon names...looks like another session with google... Dragon and textures both from Daz Lighting done with IDL Studio from RDNA

Terrific Textures and Image..Sometimes by raising the dial Shadow min bias on the lights it helps reduce those ugly artifacts..Default I think is 0.8 try 1.0 or higher:)

Thanks for the comments all! And for the tip, artistheat. I didn't know that and will have to remember it for future renders. :D
