Perspective, light, black and white. A sizable piece of visual poetry for us this morning Mark. Like it! Ever hear of Andrew Prokos? His large body of work is made up of fifteen years worth of architectural photography of New York City and Washington D.C. You could do the same thing with Chicago...you've already got a start with pictures I know you've taken. Think of the fun...and you don't need an airplane ticket to get there:)

Fantastic POV, Mark. I almost get dizzy looking at this. I know it is not a very tall building, but it is to me, as we dont have very many Skyscrapers in DK. I guess you dont even call this one a skyscraper. lol! Excellent shot it is for sure :)

wonderful POV!! I like the B/W.

LOVE the high-key look of this, as well as the pov. The near roofline (bottom) roots us to the ground, slightly left of center, and the corner of the building (even more to the left) leads us up and up and up to the very top. All those balconies ... !!! They should stop stop stop the eye, but that amazing white corner pulls us along, and the balconies fly by as we rise. Really fine work.

Mark, this is a fascinating capture my friend. Really love the idea you had for this one as the pov you chose to go with here gives it such an epic feel. SO nice to see you posting once more.

What a find this is! Of course I'm also sitting here wondering what building this is and if I've passed it at any point in the past...I'm not so sure, but I love those balconies. The rail patterns are superb and nicely complicated: a nice contrast to the clean lines, the planes, the relative austerity of this...I like the austerity, it's very elegant and spare: a bit like a piece of music that utilizes silence as much as it does actual musical sound...the high-key parts of this remind me of that silence, and it feels like this image has lots of room for relaxation in it, and that's always good. This is a marvel of composition: upward and onward meld perfectly into the exact same direction and so I get more of a feeling of floating rather than simply looking up. I love it when art does that.

WHOA!! Only you would think of getting this shot! I feel like I'm right there, backing up a bit to see the whole thing .. wow .. dizzyingly awesome!! Did you notice that the underneath of the balconies look like 8 panel doors?

WOW! I like this a lot! This is fantastic! The POV, the overexposed black and white that gives an already great shot even more depth and mood, the over all dream-like quality of it all. Love this!

I love this! I love the overexposed nature of it, that focuses attention on the upward motion. It makes me think of pictures I've seen of Mayan pyramids like the one at Uxmal. My eyes are drawn up its walls to the heavens. Wonderful geometric shapes. I love the diagonal lines which seem to cup the building like the leaves of a flower or the pages of a book. (For a moment, I imagined them snapping shut and hiding the building away.) The rectangular shapes of the balconies stack one on the other. The rectangles within the rectangles. I wonder about those eight rectangles beneath each balcony. I guess the crossbars are a kind of support, but I really like the way they look. The triangular shape going up of the walls and the balconies. I love the black and white which along with the overexposed look, brings out the geometric shapes and gives them dominance. I like the tree branch. It can not really compete with the straight forward and angular world of the architecture, but it seems to whisper, 'there is another way.' I love the upward pull of the architecture and I also love the tree branch that whispers, 'there is another way.' This is most wonderful!

Dreamy and dramatic - what a combination! Makes me want to grab onto a huge bunch of brightly colored helium balloons and drift upwards to see the view...
