Description

(Better detail, full size) Saturday morning almost no postwork---except for the crop & resizing. Haze has a way of coloring everything a taupe-ish gold... * * * Was gone a few days; still have a few galleries to see. I wish you all a wonderful Sunday! Inspiration & peace, Mark

As always saved your gallery for last tonight so I could close out my evening on a positive note Mark. This is a splendid photo and what caught my eye almost instantly was the beautiful reflection off the water. Also you made such a good point about the effect the haze has on this one, and gives it such a golden hue. This is one of those scenes that is just a pleasure to view and truly has a majestic feel.

Wonderful light in the lake. The golden tones, the bright and the reflections in the water are fabulous and you captured it, in your best way!! It is a beautiful awake of the day. Majestic photograph again, Mark!

Isn't it strange the way the light has solidified the water! The whole scene could well be cast in bronze. Stunning!

As with magnus073, I am closing out my night with your beuatiful dawn shot Mark. The impression I get is of glass. Inky blackness or blueness brilliantly lit by the rising sun. The water along the shoreline reminds me of leaded glass. Seeing this gorgeous result...I'd love to pop out of bed before sunup tomorrow morning (or some morning), grab my camera and run off to Edmonds, Picnic Point or Mukilteo where the Sound presents itself and see what I can get. Difference between your POV and mine is that you are on the west bank looking east...I would be on the east bank looking south/west/north...but not east unless I add a ferry ride to my early morning excursion:) If/when you get to visit out here, you and I can give this a try...I guarantee tk will not be up for this early morning jaunt! Well done my friend. I very much appreciated your comments as you passed through earlier today...er, yesterday:)

This is so beautiful; and your composition is so breathtakingly elegant, just as I'd expect from your exquisite artistic sensibilities!

Ohhhhhhh ... SO beautiful! I never tire of seeing your lake in all its moods. This is spectacular. The colors are so subtly gorgeous, so perfect, I can imagine standing there, drinking in the quiet of dawn. Bill is right, though ... I'm not one to get up before dawn ... so I'll have to enjoy your shots. :) Superb!

It looks very peaceful, with the sun covered in haze, and the dark shadow on the sand. Some lovely reflections to brighten the scene. CC

What can I say that hasn't already been said in the preceding comments? The colors themselves are fabulous in this esoteric image, and the subtle textures are remarkable as reflected in the sunlight over Lake Michigan, Mark.

A wonderful way to start a new day is to see a beautiful sunrise, it lasts the whole day in my mind. This is such a sunrise with its beautiful colour and great light on the water. The water looks to be so still, as if it too is pausing and watching the beauty. A marvellous capture and thank you for sharing.

I don't know how much more I can add to what's already been said. Well, of course I can add more, I always have a few more words in me somewhere. And having said THAT--this reminds me a lot of some of the dawn shots I've gotten when I've hauled my sleep self outta bed, gotten on my bike and hit the beach at just this moment. That's a light you see at no other time. And your lake is every bit as gorgeous as my ocean (isn't it nice that we each have our OWN private bodies of water???!!). I love everything about this foto!!

I'm afraid the only times I see the dawn are when I haven't gone to bed yet, or, in days gone by, when I was camping and the great outdoors reached in and pulled me from my not totally comfortable sleeping bag with the sweet words of morning. I like dawn. I just wish it didn't come so early. This is so beautiful! I love the layers of water, the strong contrast in the foreground, and the marvelous light! Wonderful composition and shapes. The great ball of the sun in the sky, a dark triangle of land, ripples of glassy water, and a thin line on the horizon. This is so beautiful! I would do a morning slog to see such a sight, though I might not be the best of company until I had breathed it in a while. Superb capture!

So we discover yet another gift you give to many of your fans - the magnificence of the dawn (myrrhluz: "I like the dawn. I just wish it didn't come so early." ROFL) A wonderful capture of the fractal ocean and the wonderful lighting to be seen on the dawn patrol.
