This is indeed a great tribute. I was going into work and heard part of the news on the radio. I thought that it was two small planes, probably kids playing chicken. Only when I got into work did I find out the real story. And then we had a staff meeting where they had hooked up the monitor and I was the second tower fall. However, when the staff meeting started, our manager turned off the TV and explained that disruption of our lives and freedom was what the terrorists wanted. The best thing to do was to go on as if nothing happened, unless we could directly help the victims. She also said that whenever we remember that wherever the terrorists came from, they did not represent their country or religion. Her father was in the US diplomatic corp and she (the manager) had grown up in some of those countries. And yes, the ones who did this were both sick and evil. As to the US troops, they are indeed brave, but I feel that the US politicians that sent them to battle have done a great wrong. Within a few months of fighting we had already lost more troops than the number killed on 9/11, and we had killed many more civilians than this. In other words, I feel that the US avenged an act of terrorism by an even larger act of terrorism. And the laws we enacted that tried to protect the US by curtailing our liberties and creating such atrocities as the misuse of the US constitution to allow torture of prisoners horrified me. For this, I am ashamed to be a US citizen. I remember 9/11, because that is the day that the terrorists won. Those who would forgo essential liberty for some temporary safety will gain nor deserve neither. - a paraphrase of Ben Franklin, one of our founding fathers. D. Jay Newman

this is sad and what is sadder is the schools is not teaching the kids the right stuff about 911. can not say who did it or why. Even the president took the word terrorist out of the government papers you did good in this image

I know where I was when I heard Kennedy had been assassinated in Dallas.I was working on Tuesday 9112001. one of my best client's husband was just 3 or 4 blocks from the twin towers and him and business associates had to rent a car and drive south to another city to catch a jet home.

Beautiful tribute! No, I don't think anyone will ever forget this dreadful attack. I remember where I was, I had just taken my kids to school and I was IMing back and forth with a friend on line, she said OH MY GOODNESS, a plane just hit the WTC, turn on the television. I turned on the tv, just in time to see the 2nd jet hit the the other tower..I was in shock, I couldn't move, couldn't do anything for awhile. Then I went and picked up my children from school. I wanted them with me at that moment, I NEEDED them with me, so I knew they were safe.

You did a fantastic job with this...everything id done perfectly and reflects how we all felt that day and how we still feel 10 years later. I was babysitting my grandchildren and I was watching Good Morning America. They broke into the program to say that what they thought was a small private plane had hit one of the towers. As I was watching that scene, I saw the second plane hit the second tower. I was watching as each terrible thing happened, right up to when the second tower collapsed. Today, I watched it all over again, and even 10 years later, I was still shocked, horrified and incredibly sad. I have times when I can't remember what I did yesterday, but I will NEVER forget what I was doing on September 11, 2001 :-(

Stirring tribute, Steve, an indelible vision for millions. I had just gotten up and turned the TV on minutes after the first impact, I believe I had the "Today" show on. A tragic accident was the general impression until the horror of the second plane comeing in so fast it was almost tearing it's wings off fighting the forces it was never designed for.

Very Nice Steve.

Excellent tribute to those who perished in that horrible tragedy. It's not enough to remember, we must never, ever let it happen again.

I was deep in the San Gregornio wilderness on a two month environmental study with no connection whatsoever to humanity. I had departed while everything was business as usual. I came back to a civilization embroiled in the opening foray of war. I spent the whole night in front of the TV trying to get my mind in sync with the alien world I had returned to. The world was utterly different from the one I had left. I felt like the protagonist in a science fiction movie who had stepped through a time-warp into an alternate reality. Great image, Steve, and a fantastic write-up.

A lovely tribute to this awful day in the history of the world. I can remember watching TV at the time it was happening and couldn't believe it was happening and I think everyone everywhere was very worried about what was to come. It happened late at night as I was in Australia visiting family and we sat up for most of the night watching and worrying. Let us hope it never happens again anywhere.

A wonderful image and dedi Steve. I was putting on my sneakers for my daily walk when the first plane hit. I was stunned and watched the TV coverage until the second plane hit. I went next door to check on my in-laws. My father-in-law was on his knees praying because he thought that it was, the beginning, of the end of the world. Dana
