Description

I captured this image at Ground Zero in NYC earlier this year. It was taken from the chapel across the road with the re-building of the site in the background. The Lord Mayor of the City of London presented this bronze bell to New Yorkers on the first-year anniversary of September 11th. Cast by the same foundry as the Liberty Bell and London's Big Ben, it conveys the empathy and solidarity of the people of London with the people of New York. I dedicate this image to everyone who lost their lives on this black day in history 10 years ago, those who paid the ultimate prize in the war against terrorism since and to all who was touched by this in any way. May we never forget. Love Carin xx

Words pale in the light of the event and this wonderful photo. I didn't realize this old church was this close to Ground Zero. Well done.

Stellar composition and focus in this sad memoriam to the many who were victims of this dastardly event, Carin. A day that will live in infamy.

You were on the grounds of Saint Paul's Chapel, Carin. It dates from 1766 and played a significant role in sheltering surviors on 9/11. In the months that followed, the iron fence surrounding the site became a place for rememberances. When I visited in June, 2002, the fence was still crowded with these memorials. This is a very moving image, across the old graveyard looking toward the new graveyard. Thank you.

I watched the coverage on CNN of them reading all the names, was moving and sad to see family loved ones, and children and young teens that were obviously very young when this happened and really never got the chance to know their mom or dad, such a sad day. Beautiful work thanks for sharing..
