I am 58 years young, live in Johannesburg, South Africa and I'm a true product of my continent. I love the bush, the animals, sunshine, sunsets - oh well, anything to do with nature. I am unmarried and have three sons - 37, 33 and 30 respectively and three granddaugters aged 12, 6 and 4 respectively and obviously the light of my life! Photography has always been a passion and I have loved it since I can remember. I was still using a SLR camera and only switched to digital only in late 2007! My other passion is travel and I have been lucky enough to have travelled fairly widely. There are however still many, many places I would love to visit "one day." I am truly an amateur photographer and do it merely as a hobby. So please be gentle when you comment on my work. :-) Thank you Piet, my dear friend, for convincing me to place my work on Renderosity. You owe me one! Hugs, Carin xx

Words pale in the light of the event and this wonderful photo. I didn't realize this old church was this close to Ground Zero. Well done.

Stellar composition and focus in this sad memoriam to the many who were victims of this dastardly event, Carin. A day that will live in infamy.

You were on the grounds of Saint Paul's Chapel, Carin. It dates from 1766 and played a significant role in sheltering surviors on 9/11. In the months that followed, the iron fence surrounding the site became a place for rememberances. When I visited in June, 2002, the fence was still crowded with these memorials. This is a very moving image, across the old graveyard looking toward the new graveyard. Thank you.

Beautiful image, Dierbaar. I can feel the cold of the snow and the chill in the air. Wonderful pov, and the light is perfect.

I watched the coverage on CNN of them reading all the names, was moving and sad to see family loved ones, and children and young teens that were obviously very young when this happened and really never got the chance to know their mom or dad, such a sad day. Beautiful work thanks for sharing..
