My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

Awesome and electrifying photo and postwork, Tara! And just look at all those (big, heavy) insulators! Woot!! Safe journey, my friends! Hope to see you two!

I love looking at these things! They're so...large, and occasionally, you can hear them sizzling and popping in ways that are pretty frikkin' scary, especially since you can only hear them sizzling and popping when you're standing somewhere you probably shouldn't be. I love the colors and the cloud pattern as well as the big, tall, sizzly-poppy thing with all of that electricity coursing through those wires! What a shot! I have to say that I love this and the Midwest is probably the best place to see these, since you're not as likely to get those mountains in the background, showing off...because, as we all know, mountains love to show off!

Such a striking compo! I get a nasty headache when I'm walking under HT cables, something to do with force fields.

Wonderful design elements and outstanding capture of them. So you and Bill are on the road again? What a fantastic anniversary gift to yourselves. I expect Bill has gotten pretty good driving the WinnieBagel (that's how my grandnephew pronunces it). Happy paper to you both.

You've made a lovely work of art out of this usually unsightly bit of tech, just as I have come to expect from you; well done! And enjoy your trip, I'll be in England when you get back here, I think...

power to the people!!
CoreyBlack
Yes, power to the people indeed! This is fantastic! I saw this in thumbnail and thought "Oh, I like this." Then I opened it and it was like WOW!!!! I love everything about this picture. The POV, the detailing of the tower and power lines, the big sky dappled with clouds. There's a kind of "dreamy" feel to this. Like I'm dreaming a childhood memory of riding my bike and parking under one of these things and listening to that vaguely sinister hum buzz crackle buzz hum thing they do. I LOVE this picture!

Love it. Putting it at an angle adds to the image Tara!

I know all about long days and being tired. We just got home from a ten day vacation and I'm exhausted. We drove 600 miles yesterday and 480 today. And I can tell you, I'm never doing that again! I look forward to seeing more pics of your trip. Are you doing a blog this time?
