On Aviation and Photography:
"You haven't seen a tree until you've seen its shadow from the sky." -- Amelia Earhart
“You don't take a photograph, you make it.” - - Ansel Adams
UPDATED: September 19, 2010
Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

What a beautiful looking bear and by the reflections he is looking out to where he should be. Be sure to look at my upload for today Bill.

Great shot!
MrsRatbag
What a great shot! Not one you're likely to get when the bear is alive, eh? Or if you did get the shot, you wouldn't be the one posting it...I think I prefer it this way!

Great capture! I stood in front of those windows longer than almost anywhere else, but didn't think to get a shot like this. Excellent image!

I watched a very funny (to British eyes) documentary about a taxidermy convention in the Mid-West. What an eye-opener! We saw a 6-year old girl shoot her first deer and stuff her first squirrel and grown men fighting over whose stuffed sparrow was the best..hysterical and completely incomprehensible. There is obviously a market out there! I only believe in shooting to get food myself..call me old-fashioned if you like! BUT I do own a Victorian stuffed owl.

"Looks like he means BUSINESS! But, I got a bigger mouth and longer teeth than him. Wonder what he'd say/do if I were to bar my 6 inchers at him!" - T.Rex. Another interesting photo, no flash, and a great background reflected in the glass! Really cool effect! Thanks! :-)

YIKES!! he looks quite dangerous to me, stuffed or not :)

Awesome capture of this fierce looking creature stuffed or not!!

It is a good job this one was stuffed and dead as you certainly got close to him. An excellent capture through the window. I don't think I would like him in my house all the same.
beachzz

As I go to Maine, and you have to wear yellow jackets at certain times of the year coz so many people are out shooting everything that moves, I can't comment.. But I think I just did.. :-) As for your image, as always to get such a good picture through glass, well done mate! Rob

Impressive photo and bear, Bill! Quite a shot, here! We had a stuffed deer head for many years when I was a kid - always made me wonder if it was really the right thing to do.

From the other side of the glass - if you will. Super capture Bill - it look real (alive). Dana
