I am 58 years young, live in Johannesburg, South Africa and I'm a true product of my continent. I love the bush, the animals, sunshine, sunsets - oh well, anything to do with nature. I am unmarried and have three sons - 37, 33 and 30 respectively and three granddaugters aged 12, 6 and 4 respectively and obviously the light of my life! Photography has always been a passion and I have loved it since I can remember. I was still using a SLR camera and only switched to digital only in late 2007! My other passion is travel and I have been lucky enough to have travelled fairly widely. There are however still many, many places I would love to visit "one day." I am truly an amateur photographer and do it merely as a hobby. So please be gentle when you comment on my work. :-) Thank you Piet, my dear friend, for convincing me to place my work on Renderosity. You owe me one! Hugs, Carin xx

Excellent use of the Rule of Thirds. Wonderful color. My mother used to say, "This too shall pass." Hang in there, Friday is coming.

Hope that this day will fast have an end, and then that there are coming good new beginnings, dear friend. This anyway is a feast for the eye! Such beautiful blue water-freedom-feeling. Thank you for sharing this, Carin ♥

Yep these days suck don't they. As for the photo, I love the colour, and oar in the air, the chop in the swell, the composition of the paddler and the perfectly straight horizon. Perfectly done Carin. My only complaint with the shot is that I'm not the guy on the ski..........

What a stunning shot! Love the tones and mood here. As far as your day, it seems to be going around, I had one too, as did another good friend. Maybe that satellite that's barreling towards earth has something to do with it?

Carin we all have those days believe me, hang in there. You know what I just watched the most uplifting movie, you may have seen it already but if not maybe it will give you a bit of a boost, its called Soul Surfer it is a true story and very moving and inspiring, one of those movies you watch and think you know what I guess my problems aren't as bad as I thought they were. All the best let me know what you think of the movie, by the way Dennis Quaid is in the movie that to me is reason enough to watch it. :)

This is an amazing photo with the rolling waves in the forground and the lone young man out there 'alone'.
