In 2005 and after 31 years in the brewing industry I chose "Freedom 55" and retired early. This allowed me to follow my passion of scuba diving and travel. I moved out to Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada for 3 years and became a professional scuba instructer.  Shortly after returning from New Zealand in the fall of 2011, I have been having to deal with a couple of non diving related medical issues which has forced me to hang up the mask and fins for a spell. This should give me more time for taking pictures...lol.

"Most people can look back over the years and identify a time and place at which their lives changed significantly. Whether by accident or design, these are the moments when, because of a readiness within us and a collaboration with events occurring around us, we are forced to seriously reappraise ourselves and the conditions under which we live and to make certain choices that will affect the rest of our lives."

Very interesting scene. Just to mention your sensor has quite a few dirty spots on it (it's easy to clean), especially in the sky. An unfortunate side effect of tone mapping is that it really highlights them!

This is lovely; maybe even nicer than when it was in perfect condition. Love the capture and postwork!

Superb! I really love your treatment of this photo and the colors and textures pop and sizzle in all of the best ways. This is really fantastic work, nicely relaxing. I can imagine the sound of loons, whether or not there actually are loons in that area. Such an elegant piece of work!
