January 2013
Been at this site five years now and have seen a lot of growth - both artistically and spiritually thanks to the many good friends I have met here. I work with Poserpro2012, photoshop CS6, PSPX2, Perfect Effects 3 and Photomatrix 4. I love working in the material room and continue to find lots of growth there. I also do a lot of postwork fixing, special affects, and framing, all for which photoshop is indispensible. I love doing postwork; no image is anywhere near complete without it.
In the last year or so I've added quite a bit of photography to my gallery. I started with a Nikon Coolpix 9100 point and shoot. It gives amazing quality and its small size makes it easy to pack around and just grab some shots as they come into my vision. I still use it for sneaky people shots but now I use a Nikon D5100 DSLR for my more serious keeper work. Had I known how all consuming my passion for photography would become I should have jumped to a D600 low end pro camera. In my gallery you will see mostly storylines based upon my own visions and versions of Mesopotamian Mythology, sprinkled with some Celtic works and an occasional pinup or two and quite a few special requests. I have long been a writer, though a terrible speller, and so most of my images come with a storyline or poem. No image seems complete to me without words to accompany them.In high school I trained in both the Sciences and Fine Arts but when I went to university I had to choose one or the other and so I went with the life sciences. Art dropped out of my life for a long time... though I never gave up my interest in archeology and mythology. I wound up with a graduate degree in the life sciences with majors in physical geography, ecology and evolutionary biology. My love of nature and a deep naturalistic spirituality eventually led me to the wikkan tradition. Some five and a half years ago I discovered poser after coming across some great 3-d art on the web and after some six months of stumble bum practice I joined this site.Doing this type of art has released many visions and stories that were locked up inside my soul for many ages. It has allowed me to explore the life and times of my primal spiritual ancestor, a girl also named Roxanne, who lived in the Sumerian regions. She whispers the stories of these classic legends in my mind and I create the images to go with them.My stories are mostly written as dialogue and they tend to be rather long. So grab a coffee, a tea or better yet a beer, kick back, relax and stay a while.I hope you enjoy your stay here.Hugs and blessed beRoxy

Well it looks like your blood, sweat and tears is paying off. The lighting here is excellent. Your posing and compositional skills have not been affected at all ;) Excellent work. I went from P7 to PP2010 and know a little of what you say. I don't even use gamma correction/adjustment. I find if an image needs any kind of adjustment like that I can get more controlled results in PS. I alway check off HDRI too. This does effect the end results of the render to varying degrees, but it's always in the positive in my experience. I think all in all you'll be much happier with the new and improved functions. Check out some Indirect Lighting tutorials too. This kind of lighting can compliment SSS very well.

Roxy, this is great,She looks so sweet!:-)wonderful and beautiful portrait my friend!!If you received these results when a newbie in Poser 2012,It's difficult to even imagine what can you do with poser 2012,when you thoroughly learned it!!:-))))))))

This is very pretty! The lighting is great! Her skin looks fabulous! Do you have the Angel set from Daz? I love the light that character comes with and it works perfectly in pp2012. You might want to try it out and see if you like the results. All of Fabi's lights work perfectly in that program too. Just a thought if you want to experiment. This is very pretty and if you like it that's what matters! Faved! Oh, one more thing Sveva's lighting tutorial taught me a lot about lighting. It's really easy to follow and does well in that program to. It has a fantastic set of lights that you can tweak to your liking. :)

Shes quite lovely; I like how the density on the right encourages you to look into the open space on her left, where there is still more to see. Her skin looks beautifully smooth and that hair looks like its about to be stirred by a breeze at any moment. As for your trials and tribulations, I am worried about the learning curve myself... I do plan on upgrading but as I am jumping from Poser Debut which is VERY simplictic (no cloth room at all for example) I am imagining I will have a few "bash head on keyboard" moments. Hang in there - this image shows us all the effort is worth it!

Most beautiful character !!!

Judging by this, I'd say you are adapting beautifully to PP2012, Roxy! Anna has never looked better, my friend! This is dazzling! I've read over that whole episode on gamma in the forum - several times, and posted a few things myself. And learned a few things. I do think you-know-who went way over the top - he's like that... It's an ego thing... But you have obviously got things down pat, and in the final analysis, it's what each artist determines is the best way to create his or her work. I can relate to what you're saying about recreating your story. I lost a bunch of files and scripts for the TNA series when my main computer upchucked a couple months ago, and the secondary HD gave up the ghost. I definitely feel your pain, Roxy! :-P In my opinion PP2012 is nothing short of awesome. If you're considering it, do it! You will have to do some relearning, but it's well worth the time spent, as this work demonstrates. Stellar work, Roxy!
