Description

Lost all my notes so have to start again, damn. It's never as good on the rewrite. I want to thank Val for giving me Anna quite some time ago. She is obviously one of my all time favourite characters. I am sorry I am behind in your other characters sweety but getting pp2012 to work has been a bear. Well this is my first upload using poserpro2012. I must say this program has a pretty steep learning curve coming off of poor old poser7. The biggest frustration is learning how to work with all the new light and render adjustments. Many beloved light sets do not work so well in pp2012 and need fixing up or just use new ones. And to get the preview window to look right, argh that was a bear. Gamma correction caused me no end of trouble until I figured out that setting it at 1.0 in render window gave good views in preview window and also produced the best balanced renders between saturated and grayish. I really love the new SSS feature and indirect lighting. They give such a great combination of detail and glow - they are awesome for portrait work and SSS gives great eyes if you fix them up in the material room first. Always set up SSS in material room first for all the skin nodes and then turn on SSS in the render window.. this will really improve the results. The big downside is that pp2012 does not import characters and scenes you created in poser7 very well. It tends to drop textures or cannot find them. That means I have to rebuild all my Delphinium characters for the series to continue. And of course I have forgotten many details of how I tweaked them when I created them. On the other hand I think this is the best version of Anna that I have done yet. What do you think? My render settings: SSS turned on in material room and render window GC=1.0 Indirect Lighting = on = 7 Displacement mapping Additionally I used just a touch of Beautifier filter as suggested by Val. My next Delphinium remake will be Onna.

Well it looks like your blood, sweat and tears is paying off. The lighting here is excellent. Your posing and compositional skills have not been affected at all ;) Excellent work. I went from P7 to PP2010 and know a little of what you say. I don't even use gamma correction/adjustment. I find if an image needs any kind of adjustment like that I can get more controlled results in PS. I alway check off HDRI too. This does effect the end results of the render to varying degrees, but it's always in the positive in my experience. I think all in all you'll be much happier with the new and improved functions. Check out some Indirect Lighting tutorials too. This kind of lighting can compliment SSS very well.

This is very pretty! The lighting is great! Her skin looks fabulous! Do you have the Angel set from Daz? I love the light that character comes with and it works perfectly in pp2012. You might want to try it out and see if you like the results. All of Fabi's lights work perfectly in that program too. Just a thought if you want to experiment. This is very pretty and if you like it that's what matters! Faved! Oh, one more thing Sveva's lighting tutorial taught me a lot about lighting. It's really easy to follow and does well in that program to. It has a fantastic set of lights that you can tweak to your liking. :)

Shes quite lovely; I like how the density on the right encourages you to look into the open space on her left, where there is still more to see. Her skin looks beautifully smooth and that hair looks like its about to be stirred by a breeze at any moment. As for your trials and tribulations, I am worried about the learning curve myself... I do plan on upgrading but as I am jumping from Poser Debut which is VERY simplictic (no cloth room at all for example) I am imagining I will have a few "bash head on keyboard" moments. Hang in there - this image shows us all the effort is worth it!

Judging by this, I'd say you are adapting beautifully to PP2012, Roxy! Anna has never looked better, my friend! This is dazzling! I've read over that whole episode on gamma in the forum - several times, and posted a few things myself. And learned a few things. I do think you-know-who went way over the top - he's like that... It's an ego thing... But you have obviously got things down pat, and in the final analysis, it's what each artist determines is the best way to create his or her work. I can relate to what you're saying about recreating your story. I lost a bunch of files and scripts for the TNA series when my main computer upchucked a couple months ago, and the secondary HD gave up the ghost. I definitely feel your pain, Roxy! :-P In my opinion PP2012 is nothing short of awesome. If you're considering it, do it! You will have to do some relearning, but it's well worth the time spent, as this work demonstrates. Stellar work, Roxy!
