Description

The past several days we've been visiting family, playing with grandkids, and just generally kicking back. What a delightful break in our travels it's been! Today we set out on the final leg of our trip, on our way back home to Washington State. The 1893 Franklin County Courthouse in Ottawa, Kansas, made for a great stop along the way. This is the judge's bench in the beautiful second-floor courtroom.

Beautiful and well maintained wood. It shows the patina of 100 years of care. Superb capture which stimulates the imagination. What stories this room could tell.

What lovely coloured woodwork Tara! Beautiful.. Hope you both had a wonderful trip :-) Please excuse me if I miss any posts (blame this awful new system!) Great capture of the textures and of the warm of the wood . Is a sober view that let induce the *seriousness of the whole place. Is a powerful image, Tara, like the word judge also is. Wonderful image!!
