Description

Depending on whom you ask 'Bene Elohim' can mean 'sons of the Goddess' or 'sons of the God/dess', or 'sons of the gods'. Both cherubim and seraphim can be very fierce guardians and protectors. The little sweet putti angels are not real cherubs. The original cherubim were the 'shedim', the bull-men with wings that you would often see as gate and door guardians in Babylon and Assyria. The original seraphim were more like gryphons or the Anzu-bird of Sumero-Babylonian myths. The one on the left is the one from 'The Devil, You Say'. The one on the right is the Blue Angel. I zeroed out all expressional morphs, posed them identically with the same hair as Nergal's actual hair tends to hide his face, and in profile. They do have a vague resemblance. They're brothers ;) At least now I have dreds for the Blue Angel, which is how I originally painted him...when I still painted on canvas with real paints. ***** I see they did give you an option to have a daily digest, but I've yet to see one from yesterday or today - and well, it's tomorrow now. I even looked in my Spam folder. Nope! Thanks for stopping by and your comments dear friends. I hope your week is going well! Cheers, Rayvn

They are beautiful, and they could belong to any mythology, couldn't they. "Double" entities, brothers, twins, brother & sister, spouses etc... are a feature common to every mythology; It's as old as humanity, as is the feature: " our father, the sky,our mother, the earth ! Great picture, dear Friend!

Even though you say you zeroed them the slightly different face morphs show bit of difference in expression. Though they both look serene, Blue angel has a hint of smile. Your mystical postwork style remains second to none.

Excellent depiction and more excellent info. The blue cast certainly adds to the mystique. Glad I could make you laugh. If the expression 'take this with a grain of salt' ever needed defining it would definitely be with 'Ancient Aliens'. Compelling and sometimes very believable, but boy, do they like to stretch their theories. They don't give enough credit to us humans.

Sah-weet! I love the black and white effect as it gives the render character and depth. The mists add tot te mystical feel as well...the subjects are gorgeous and I love how shall we say ethnic they look...as if they are true Babylonian era hotties--very nice all round.
