UPDATED: September 19, 2010
Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

Well, I still find it rather beautiful. It got all the beautiful texture of age, which I for people call "charm texture" ;-) A wonderful clear shot.

Marvellous! And of course, although much younger, you also are still here to be photographed and I look forward to when I can do so myself.

Awww - just 4 short years younger than what I feel and look at the moment. Excellent shot of this gracious oldtimer Bill!

That's a much-used and abused old beast! But it still has wonderful lines, and it's a wealth of textures...well found and shot, Bill!

What a great old truck! I love the way it has aged, and wonder what it looked like when it was new. You've aged much more gracefully than this old truck. :P I haven't found a spot of rust on you yet! LOL! :*

I wonder how long it's been standing there. Dry, hot climate, yet looking so old. It's served its purpose well, it seems, and then been abandoned. I wonder what the story is behind that. An old pre-WWII veteran. Even in the delapidated there is a certain beauty. Nice job, Bill. Keep it up! :-)

I bet that has seen some things :o)

Heh - I'm not there, either, but there are days I feel like this old truck looks - rusty and worn out! LOL! That's a wonderful find, Bill! And you got a great shot of it. If it could talk I'll bet it would have some stories...

Wow what a rare find Bill. Beautifully captured. I wonder if it would have had a little less rust if it had been abandoned somewhere in Arizona.

What a find! It looks quite smashing, even in its current condition. I've been in the odd sort of Star Wars kind of mood lately. I guess it's because Target has been pumping out a few "Target Exclusive" action figure sets from the whole span of the Star Wars film franchise, including the CGI animated "Clone Wars" saga...and so I'm kinda in this "oooh, let's look for rusty stuff with bulbous shapes" kind of a mood. This fits perfectly. Of course I much prefer real old, post-mortal cars to CGI effect landspeeders or what-have-you, and I can say that were I there, I'd be poking around for rattlesnakes (with a long, long stick) before getting into some rust-photographing position and complaining about sand or something stuck in my shirt once I finagle my way back upright. Of course, before I even read your text, I imagined hearing you and Corey comparing stories about the production history of this particular beauty and Corey getting seriously spooky with his knowledge of what color underwear the original designer of this vehicle was wearing on the day that he submitted the final design to the one you would have submitted final designs to in the automotive contrivance industry, back when stuff was heavy and detailed and such. And to top it off, I love the way this single image conjured so tangentially-related a thought. This is a cool, nicely elegant shot.

What a find, Bill! I doubt I would find one in fields out here with less rust - a well used workhorse! Clive

still as good as new... with rust removed, nickel updated and metal sandblasted and painted it could live another hundred years...excellent capture, Bill!

Post as many of these as you can find please. You are so lucky in the States to have all these fine rust old vehicles still about.
