Hi Folks! Here is my suggestion for Number 12: What’s yours?
#12: Phantom 309

Same Set Playlist:
Ghost Riders in the Sky – The Ramrods
Riding with Private Malone – David Ball
The Ride – David Alan Coe
"But every now and then, some hiker’ll come by
And like you, Big Joe’ll give ‘em a ride
Here, have another cup and forget about the dime
Keep it as a souvenir, from Big Joe and Phantom 309!"
Lots of ghost stories in the USA take place on the road. Fortunately, most of the spirits in country/western and rockabilly music seem to be benevolent like Private Malone. Several of the songs involve the ghost of Hank Williams, Sr.-- but don’t expect to hear any of them on a TV sports program any time soon. The Phantom 309 story has become such a cliché that it was parodied in a Pee Wee Herman movie. Notice that Michael Murphy’s Wildfire didn’t make my list. The thought of a lovesick guy waiting for a date with a ghostly lady riding on her horse is certainly spooky, but to me the song comes off as overly sweet and maudlin.
Thanx to the artists at Renderosity.com, 3Dcommune, Daz 3D, Archive3D.net, and ShareCG, whose props were used in the composition of this image.
