“You don't take a photograph, you make it.” - - Ansel Adams
UPDATED: September 19, 2010
Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

Wonderful capture of this beautiful Autumn scene Bill!!!!

Nice shot of aspen with evergreens in distance. Locals in Utah call aspen "Quakies" or "Quakenasp" because the leaves tremble with the slightest breeze or seismic tremor.

Gorgeous fall colours, Bill; I was pleased to see they'd arrived around here when I got home! Too bad I also acquired a fierce cold on the plane coming home :( And Ronnie says he'll do you a tutorial on how to use RAW...

This is a spectacular capture, Bill! I love the triangular framing of the evergreens - it really enhances the 'upward' feel with the mountain reaching for the sky in the background. Wonderful shot!

Autumn is doing strange things here in Chicago...it gets exceptionally cold before getting warm, only to get exceptionally cold again. I think that weather in these parts is suffering from rapid-cycle bipolar disorder: I'm expecting snow during a heat wave, as is typical of Chicago. Sometimes. Well, not often, but it has happened. Microbursts or something like that. And as this has nothing to do with this photo, I'll switch gears and actually say something about this photo. First off, I love the yellowed deciduous framing and the manner in which the evergreens are so wonderfully positioned. The green/yellow combination is nicely contrasted and there's a warmth to the image (from the colors). I really dig that depth too. All in all, this shot rocks, and I love the way it kinda reminds me of a map of an island (the pines) surrounded by yellow water: probably full of sand, or some odd algae or whatever else is likely to ooze out of my mind-nooks. This is really nice.

Trees around here seem to turn brown overnight and in the morning someone sneezes and the leaves are all gone. Can't remember the last time I saw colours like this, maybe in your gallery this time last year :-) Great capture, really like the way the greens are framed.....nature has it's moments and you caught this one just right..
