Description

And as the sun sinks slowly into the West, we continue on our trip through South Dakota ... This is somewhere on I-90 between the Badlands and the Corn Palace, right around September 21st. The light was so beautiful I couldn't resist. This is another one of those hand-held-zoom-out-the-window-at-75-miles-an-hour shots.

Talk about magnificent desolation.... Man, you're right, Tara - that light is just irresistable! A great peaceful pastoral scene - excellent photo! Especially considring it was one of those 75 MPH grab shots!

Wonderful. I saw so many of these scenes as we travelled but being the hand on the wheel, all I could do was oooo and ahhh:) Your image has the qualities of a painting... Your postwork has made this a real treat to the eyes. Well done:*

I've been in South Dakota in late September and I remember sweeping vistas like this in the late evening! Nice shot!

I am smiling - just took some photos of the harvesting here today. I was on foot though - cannot run that fast... yet! A super painting! Clive

Ha! This looks like it could be right here in the south part of the province of Skane, southern Sweden! Except, here the hay is rolled in white plastic (or cloth?) for protection. The give-away though is the American style telephone poles! Beautiful sunset. Nice shot, considering the moving platform! Keep it up! :-)

Wow, it's breathtaking light for certain! And the shot gains a lot by the movement-blur too; wonderful atmosphere!

I just love those shoot out of a fast-moving-passenger-side window shots! I got a few of silos in that bit of open, flat Illinois just south of Chicago! Silos are kinda odd...I saw one feeding grain to a train, but I couldn't quite get that shot. I really like this shot as it shows just how open the land is over thataway, and how flat it is! The colors are simply stunning. I love being driven along long, windy highways...you get a sampling of just how big the planet actually is, even though you're only seeing a tiny portion of it. This rocks and I love the mood. Nice! Very nice!

I was going to ask you which museum you stopped at to get this capture of a 19th century painting. A superb image. I love the color change from brown to gold to blue. Brilliant work.

Great capture again Tara. Typically American West, I love it. The horizon is the limit.
