My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

cool motion blur thing
Chipka
I love a good motion blur shot and I'm quite intrigued by this one. It actually reminds me of a totally different and wholly accidental shot I made on Sunday night; I was with Corey on Belmont Avenue, heading to the el. I posted that so I won't go into exhaustive, intimate detail, but I will say that I captured a ghost blur much like trees passing a speeding car, or is it a speeding car passing trees; in some worlds such a distinction is rather hard to make. Anyway, the whole motion vs. stillness thing totally grabs my attention right now and I love the way in which such shots imply a kind of intimacy, especially in terms of a human subject. It works here with those silo things too...the blur calls your attention to the clarity and sort of patinates whatever is behind the blur. (I've been waiting for 2 days to use that word.) And for me, that really calls attention to what's behind the blur, or somewhere near it. It's like a magnifying glass of sorts. It doesn't make the object any bigger nor does it make something seem closer, but it really narrows your focus in terms of what you're seeing clearly and for me, it heightens the emotional connection. And..well...that's incredibly cool! I love this shot and how it also reminds me of traveling in general...things blur, but there's always something you remember clearly! How cool is that?! This shot rocks, zooms, and just flat-out intrigues. Excellent work!

What an excellent mind you have Tara. To think of it, set it up and wait for your opportunity and to produce such superb results. Outstanding work and a technique well worth stealing.

Well, I'll beeeeeeeee:) Knew you were up to something and now I know what. What a unique technique. I'll try it out the driver's side window next time. Oh, wait..., that might imperil the whole project! Good show.
