Description

Here is a photo I liked. Feeeeeg had posted a comment and they just join on 11/11/2011 and is worried about takeing photos of people this is privite land here yes but this is the law also and it the law in New York as I looked it up and it the law all over USA as far as I know If the private property is open to the public, such as retail stores, private stadiums or tourist areas, filming may be allowed unless there are signs posted expressly forbidding videotaping or photography There was no signs and every one was takeing photos that had cameras and videos too. This is the answer I give Feeeeg as i can not IM the person as they have no images up . I put in the link to where I find the laws http://communications-media.lawyers.com/privacy-law/Photography-or-Video-Taping-Consent.html This is what the new person that just joins RR yesterday so they could post they comment Feeeeg thank you for you input and remember I not selling the photo and if what you saying then it would put the Hollywood movie makeing out of that state which the state of New York will not do as they need all the money they can get. Also this is in Texas that do not have that law in public which new York do not have also. so please read and see it on Private Property and that goes every where in the USA. there is places in Public Places that is unlawful to take like bedrooms, bathrooms, changing rooms, locker rooms, hotel rooms. so please do your home work as I did . thank you very much. If some one know Feeeeg please let him know I posted a respond to his comment . I just like to clear things up and I like to know the laws too. and now we know. So get your cameras and take the photos. thank you

Cool peacock lady Jock. (even though a lady peacock is called a peahen and doesn't have such wonderful feathers) :)

Great Scott, you got a picture of a human peacock, Jock, wearing a blooming dress that is really ugly. Yuck. Oh, and I agree with Tara about privacy and all that jazz about taking photos. From what I've read and researched, that unless it's posted otherwise, you can take a shot of anything or anyone you want. I do it all the time. I sometimes get yelled at, but so what. I know my rights.

A great (and totally legal) photo, Jock! Looks awesome! As a photographer myself, I've done a lot of homework on the subject of when, where, who, what can be done with photos, and so on. At a public event, such as a RenFest, you can legally shoot all the photos you want as long as they will not be used in a 'commercial' manner. Tara's comments sum it up perfectly. I really like this one as well as all your RenFest photos, my friend! Keep 'em coming!

such as I have been warned not to take pictures of certain buildings and I told them as long as I am on a public sidewalk, I will take pictures of anything I like as long as it is not a federal courthouse there is no law in New York forbidding taking pictures in the subway, but some people have rousted by the subway police.I believe they sued the city and won nice shot of the biggest peacock I have seen!!

Yes, I agree with bmac62. I doubt that she dress that way if she doesn't want to be seen, and , of course, phographed. It,s a great picture , with one single mistake (her mistake, not yours)Is the Male peacock who has those feathers LOL

I'm with Tara on that topic and I would add that a camera could be seized only if a crime is being investigated and the officer has reasonable and probable grounds to believe your camera is instrumental to that investigation. Police cannot hide behind that process. If they invoke that incorrectly, you can sue for all kinds of damages. I also keep copies in my camera bag in order to educate those having heads swollen with self-importance and power. Yes, nice costume!

Open to the public says it all here. Her dress outfit reminds me of that old petticoat dress wear to hold the dress open. Haven't seen one in many years. Nice capture. Aloha
