Description
Here is a photo I liked.
Feeeeeg had posted a comment and they just join on 11/11/2011 and is worried about takeing photos of people
this is privite land here yes but this is the law also and it the law in New York as I looked it up and it the law all over USA as far as I know
If the private property is open to the public, such as retail stores, private stadiums or tourist areas, filming may be allowed unless there are signs posted expressly forbidding videotaping or photography
There was no signs and every one was takeing photos that had cameras and videos too.
This is the answer I give Feeeeg as i can not IM the person as they have no images up . I put in the link to where I find the laws
http://communications-media.lawyers.com/privacy-law/Photography-or-Video-Taping-Consent.html
This is what the new person that just joins RR yesterday so they could post they comment Feeeeg
thank you for you input and remember I not selling the photo and if what you saying then it would put the Hollywood movie makeing out of that state which the state of New York will not do as they need all the money they can get.
Also this is in Texas that do not have that law in public which new York do not have also. so please read and see it on Private Property and that goes every where in the USA. there is places in Public Places that is unlawful to take like bedrooms, bathrooms, changing rooms, locker rooms, hotel rooms. so please do your home work as I did . thank you very much.
If some one know Feeeeg please let him know I posted a respond to his comment .
I just like to clear things up and I like to know the laws too. and now we know. So get your cameras and take the photos.
thank you

Nice one, Jock. You started a thread that I think needed to be stated. Geeze, it's ages since I've been to a RENFEST (used to be a musician at the MD scene). I must say the evolution of garb is very interesting.

Wow. An awesome picture, I love these photos you're taking at these events! A nice clear and sharp image, showing all the awesome details of her costume! A very informative commentary here. First, thanks for looking this up for us, something good to know. And for the comments from auntiek, mrslubner, and others, something I always wondered about, but since I have not done photos of people to post, I have wondered. So thanks again Jock ... So I went looking for New York laws .. and found this lenghty document, which covers some other states also. http://www.cardozoaelj.net/issues/08/goldstein.pdf

After having seen all these "wonderful" your photos I can be sure to go out and encounter the Queen of Wonderland together with Alice finding it quite normal! (Perhaps a little more normal than your photos! aha ah)

I am very excited that so many people have commented that you did no wrong. What would we all do if we couldn't do what we do? Love the capture.

Your fine pictures have created a wonderful discussion that I think has benefited everyone who comments on your pictures. Excellent! I love this peacock lady and the girls giggling behind her back!

I have always been aware of the law when taking a picture in public your correct: Now saying this leads me to the thing that happened to me as I was walking around my home area a man standing in front of his house with beautiful beagles (2)these happened to be my favorite dogs before I went to snap he said "quote"You should ask me if it's ok before you snap that camera, I said sorry and walked away this of course,is not a law ,but could lead to trouble calling it "invasion"of privacy and I'm sure your always careful as we have gotten to know your very polite over the years : Love this !~~5+
