My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

...suspect this one is rotten to the core:) I've always wanted to use this phrase about something other than an apple...and this is my opportunity! Fascinating images and taken from the car without much room to adjust your POV. I do like the back view. There was obviously a rear extension on this house that is now 100% gone. Love it!

Splendid shots.

Great capture Hugs Susan~

I'll bet it was a beauty in its prime; sad that it's declined so far. But your shots are wonderful, full of cool details...

Beautiful photos but so sad it is in such bad shape. Wish it could be restored to its original beauty.

Hmmmmm.... Anyone got Ty Pennington's phone number?? This quite simply kicks butt, Tara! I love old dilapidated buildings like this - especially when they have this much character. Oh the stories this house could tell.... Great photos!

What a place! I'd love to see this fixed up and restored to its old glory UNESCO style (which means it has to be restored to its original glory, right down to exact period details.) I love the various wood tones, the shapes, the colors, the textures and the whole, oh-so-slightly otherworldy vibe this has. It vaguely resembles the sort of things I saw...over there, where apples grew in orchards just outside of castle ramparts no one really paid that much attention to unless they were tourists. This is a superb duo of shots.

Very beautiful dyptic Tara..I like especially the roof...Have a nice Sunday

I guess all these little layers of wood gave a certain insulation too. Amazing way of making a house. Wonderful shots too :)

This would not survive here - it would be scavenged for building material of fire wood. A find and a half! Clive

I would love to know the history of this house a lot of love went into it once.

Yep that's a run down shack indeed! Nice to see something that 'looks' old huh? Shame about the wires but its the same up in Maine.. Everywhere.. Rob

Obviously a well-built house. Interesting asymetrical windows and log cabin-y facade. Wonderful photos but I'm with Bill on this. I'm afraid this house is done for.

Amazing how many beautiful textures and colors are on those two perfect shots, Tara! Love it.

Hmmmmmmm. I think this one would fill up a couple of full seasons of "This Old House." Front view looks pretty solid, not so much the back. I love the LOOKS of the place, and am now intrigued by its history. I'm always fascinated by things like this.Makes me want to roll up my "archival sleeves" and get to work. Bet it was fun/interesting walking around it. Wonderfully eerie. Great work!

Oh what a fantastic place to be taking pictures at and of...incredible find Tara. We have an OLD building in my hometown that has a house in about this condition. Something in the former owners will prevented anyone from occupying the place for a hundred years or something like that. They say the insides are falling down now, but its still a cool place to drive by.
