Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

Ha1 This is so cool! Great job, Bill. Highlighting the important things in the image with color. Great! Now, for some warm socks - it's getting chilly outside. Cheers! :-)

Always fascinated by this technique, it always reminds me of the little girl in the red coat in 'Schindlers List'....is that strange? Must learn to do this some day, but untill I do, I'll marvel at your excellent work.I think you've picked just the right items to give this image it's wow factor, especially those socks :-) at least we don't have to worry about him having cold feet.

A fascinating image to begin with, and your selective color work gives it even more "oomph." Excellent work ... great postwork choices. And yes ... I love the socks! :)

I love this photo anyway, but the selective color just makes it that much more delightful! Most excellent, Bill!

Very nicely composed and you have done a great job of the selective saturation. There is something quite cathartic about doing this!

Superb, Bill. I love the selective colouring... Clive

This ol' gentlemen is rather fascinating with his long white hair and his reflection in the window - beautiful (yes, yes, yes and his sox!) ;) For a split second there, I thought, that he was counting the money he had made so-far, but more to the point, I think he is picking another coloured pen. Interesting to see, that he uses this common sphere several times, in different ways ... a sight to behold, BB

What a shot! I love the selective coloring and the red socks are quite...well...I like garish socks! This has a nice, poignant quality to it and that works incredibly well with the black and white. The splashes of color simply enhance that! I love that he seems to focus on the Bean in terms of his inspiration.
