Description

Rather late in the morning on our first full day in Chicago we went downstairs to the hotel restaurant for breakfast. By the time we got there they weren't serving, but someone on the hotel staff was kind enough to recommend a place a couple blocks down. We strolled down Washington toward the lake, found the restaurant, and enjoyed some excellent food for a really good price. As a matter of fact, we liked it so much we went back the next day. The restaurant had seating inside in a cafe environment, but they also had seating "outside" in the lobby of the building. The lobby's ground floor was quite tall -- probably double height. Above that were four mezzanine levels. Above that was the ceiling, from which this huge chandelier hung. This was the view from our breakfast table. My, oh my. I DO love Chicago!

*** WOW! **** Breakfast is my favorite meal, I think.... So much so that I often have two breakfasts... My inner hobbit coming out, I suppose. I would probably have 3 or 4 if I got to enjoy a view like this while breakfasting! A super shot, Tara!

WOW! I've since been past that building 3 times...once while moving dental equipment into the building with the really, dangerously cute security guy with the adorable Bosnian accent. I learned his name! YAY! He's nowhere near approaching Victor territory, but hey, a little eye-candy never hurt anyone. He's not the security guy in this building, however. Oh well. I love this POV...you really captured the height, the light, the color, the tallness, the mood...everything, and I suspect Corey and I are gonna have to go there for breakfast, and THEN Reza's for lunch or an early dinner, and then to the Cheesecake Factory for key lime cheesecake. You inspire me to actually like Chicago again, but then I've always believed that a city isn't actually a place so much as it's lots of buildings standing around the people you like. This is a brilliant shot!

I'll not soon forget this neat place. It is one of those rare places where you can be outside inside...know what I mean;-) Super shot in some very unusual lighting conditions.
