My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!
If I’m missing from Renderosity from time to time, I’m busy having fun elsewhere.
Thanks for your interest in my work, and for stopping by to learn more about me!

Great shot Tara. At 75mph out the car window? You did one hell of a good job centering the picture. Nice midwestern scene. No wonder they call it the bread basket, or corn basket? of the world. Something like that. BTW - you got about 2/3 of our annual total in a 24 hr. period.

This looks like the part of Illinois I had the pleasure of visiting yesterday...the part of the state with really, terribly scary, utterly spooky old country western music zapping out of antennas sharing property with little white shacks--Radio Stations, as seen in movies like O Brother Where Art Thou? You know, the kinds of radio stations the size (and overall shape of an outhouse on steroids? The silos I saw were all responsible for feeding trucks, more so than trains. They were uniformly silo-ish, like these. They were big. They reminded me that there are some very necessary parts of the state, that also happen to be very spooky. So much of our food comes from really spooky places! And you've captured that perfectly. I love the fuel tank shape of these silos: I keep expecting a few of them to start venting condensation from the liquid oxygen fuel propellant responsible for sending guys to the moon. Brilliantly seen and captured. Nice!

And then the mighty engines ignited and they flew off into space! In my trip across the country it seemed the entire states of Nebraska and Iowa were completely covered in corn fields. I don't remember seeing one silo, however. Nice capture, especially at 75 mph.

ENCORNOMOUS! Or is what you call corn actually wheat? Never mind, a quite amazing catch at that speed and they are very shiny..I like shiny.

Ooooo, nice. I recall these as we rocketed past but I have no idea where they were (Iowa you say)...or where we were for that matter;-) I love these road shots, even though I don't think you did at the time. This sets the tone for most of what we saw for days in the midwest. Very true to life on the Great Plains. First class!

I suppose you could say the pic is a corny one or a bit grainy but it is actually an amazing pic!!!

I love the game of PIT! I haven't played it in years and you are quite right about it being loud and noisy. I'm going to see if we still have the game because my grandkids would love a reason to shout and not get in trouble for it. And you and Bill are like Ken and I. He drives, I roll down the window and freeze us out trying to get the perfect shot at 75 mph. Maybe we need to travel in warmer weather. Happy Thanksgiving to you both.

Impressive constructions :-) Excellent capture too :)

LOL, I know what you mean about a LOT of corn; I've done that drive so many times I can't even count them. But what a great all-American scene and shot!

Well, there's quite a few bowls of corn flakes there, that's for sure! Nice one Tara! I used to service a couple copiers in the big Bunge elevator in Atchison a few years back. You wouldn't believe the grain dust I had to clean out of those things...... It always made me just a little nervous going in there with high-voltage coronas and all that airborne dust.... I think this is the elevator that exploded a few weeks ago...

PIT!, Hmm, can't say as ever hearing of that one. A classic midwest scene!

Hmm, I am inspired to 'wheat' out my shots of silos - and the plastic 'sausages' they use now! So clean and shiny - must be new! Clive
