My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

If I’m missing from Renderosity from time to time, I’m busy having fun elsewhere.

SX 20 to SX 40? Well then, you've doubled up! This is a lovely family grouping. Wonderful colors and textures. So you've stocked up for the winter. Very wise. I here people are building Arks up in your part of the country.

Enjoy your new camera! Nice shot!

Superb! When I first went to Art School we had a scary drawing tutor who used to make us draw without lifting the pencil from the paper, and this was JUST the sort of subject he would use. He had unkempt red hair, no interpersonal skills, and wore rubber boots.

First of all, congrats on the new camera! From the look of this photo, I'd say it ROCKS. (Sorry, I just HAD to say that...)! Nice, and sharp and clear, Tara! I did see Bill's shot of the gull.... amazing. Now, I have to ask the obvious question...... So did you try to stack those rocks like NefariousDrO? :-D
bmac62
Minimalist composition...well seen...beautifully executed.

I really like this - the exposure with a bit of vignette around the edges. Is that the lens or postwork? Peaceful. Clive

A Zen POV, obviously !

I just love those objects you choose to try out with your new camera (congratulations :)). The POV is perfect, as the mood and light is too, Tara.

What an amazing find! What an amazing photograph! This makes me think of a landscape as--to me--it looks just like a nice (recently discovered) place that's closer than you'd think. The background recalls an expansive sky: the kind of sky the surrealists loved so much--there is so much sky in surrealist paintings! The colors are amazing and the POV is superb...rather like you've come across a cluster of wandering rocks huddled together--rather loosely--for warmth. Brilliantly seen and captured. I like this massively.
