Description

Captured 12/11/11, at the beautiful Earl Burns Miller Japanese Garden, on the beautiful campus of California State University Long Beach, in beautiful Long Beach, California. A ZOOM would be most propitious. Postwork was absolutely essential in this instance because the original was virtually black as a result of using a long 28-200mm lens, with a polarizer, plus a fast shutter speed, because these guys are always on the move, often abruptly going in all kinds of directions. The top pic shows just about what I saw, sans view finder, as far as color, lighting and contrast are concerned. The bottom pic depicts the result of some radical digifiddling. Finally, the foto was cropped for better composition. Cheerio, thankx for tuning in, and for any and all favs and noncritical comments.

Beautiful image and great postwork. Wonderful colors and detail. What a great variety of colors and patterns. I like the guy at the top with the yellow head and red markings.
