Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!
I did this last year but I was so tired of snow scenes I just shelved it. Now seems a good time for it.
Of all of Ken Gilliland's birds (and I have them all :)) this is my absolute favorite. Please zoom for a better view of him.
Thanks for all your kind comments on Linda's (hipps13's b-day card).
The Heron's in Linda's card were Chinese Pond Heron's from Ken's Songbird Remix Shorebirds collection 2. The foreground terrain was actually textured with a photo of rocks and overlaid with Vue water to create the effect. The waterfall was another terrain textured with Vue water and the white water parts and mist were painted in Photoshop. It was a fun experiment.

Snow and water are the most difficult textures "to get right", you've mastered both. Bravo!

This is beautiful and reminds me of one of the things I really love about your work. I can look at your images in their entirety and be transfixed by the beauty of the scene, and then I love looking at all the wonderful details, seeing the individual parts that add so richly to the beautiful whole. Here, I would have to start with Ken Gilliland's beautiful bird and his wonderful dance. I like the dash of red on his head which leads me to the second detail, the wonderful red bridge. Then march in the trees, each so detailed and various. My favorite is the one on the far right, with beautiful twists and light on its trunk and branches. Excellent scene! Beautiful light and composition. I like this a lot! I'm am very glad you shared it with us! It was very interesting to read about how you did your last image. That was a very successful experiment and one of my favorites of your gorgeous gallery.
