My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

If I’m missing from Renderosity from time to time, I’m busy having fun elsewhere.

You caught this one just perfectly... full light on Mt. Baker and the lower guys in shadow, making a perfect dissection of it and showcasing the might of the mountain. The west coast volcanic group is certainly one of the most amazing wonders of the world.

A golden glow. What a surprise to see the mountain had moved closer to us that day:) Love your postwork... Captain Vancouver again:) The explorer George Vancouver named the mountain for 3rd Lieutenant Joseph Baker of HMS Discovery, who saw it on April 30, 1792.

I don't need to travel because I can look at your wonderful pics, and those of others on this site, without the stress!

So beautiful...I think Mt. Baker was one of the mountains we could see from the Space Needle in Seattle...that and Mt. Rainier and maybe Mt. St. Helena. I think that's what the sign said...or maybe not. I can't remember. How lucky that you live so close to such beauty.

Isn't it amazing how the mountains around here seem to move themselves and grow larger and smaller depending on where you stand? I'm sure the native folks here had a lot of stories about that phenomenon. This one is absolutely gorgeous--the golden peaks behind the sentinel hills glowing in the setting sun. Fantastic work!

Gorgeous place indeed! And so important to realise how lucky you are to live in such a beautiful place! And you're right, to realise that, you definitely need to travel and see other places, landscapes, people etc... before you realise how cool it is at home! ;)

A stunning capture of this mountain all lit up in the afternoon sun. It would be lovely to travel the world but there is no place like home.

A gorgeous shot, Tara! Sometimes we do need to stop and just take a look at what's in our own backyard! I think I will..... I'll be right back.... I'm back. I think I like your backyard better! :-D I agree - travel does broaden one's horizons... Just sitting here broadens something else... :-P
