Description

We were without power for about 90 minutes tonight, and I went wrong on my new knitting on the second row and had to start again, so I took some pics instead. Moral..don't start a new garment by candlelight. It was just like the old days..but the difference is that then we didn't keep a huge amount of food in a freezer. In fact we didn't have a fridge till I was 18 so there was nothing to worry about when the power went off!

Power cut's have often been of benefit...Would you have captured this image without one? Love the little guy-bottom left-Poodle?

Wonderful shot of this candel light. No problem with the power going out here as far as the freezer goes. Just have to set the stuff outside and It wont thaw until April. It does need to be in a tin garbage can or something to avoid critters getting into it.

Beautiful! Such a nice atmosphere. 90 minutes isn't too bad. Just enough to appreciate all our modern conveniences and get the cameras out! :)

I love the beautiful glow you have achieved in this capture. I'm glad the powercut didn't last too long all the same.

Love the beautiful soft lit ambiance, despite the power failure, A. 90 minutes isn't a frozen food disaster at this time of year.

No, definitely not...candlelight is for removing garments not making them, LOL! It is good that you have some candles, otherwise you might have had to start burning some of those perfumes. Happy that your power is back!

Nice lighting and reflections. I remember the old 'icebox' outside the back door's storage room. Memories!!!

Power cut! My world would come to an end. Unless I was out at work of course, then there wouldn't be any work.

It is funny how our habits changed. We are so dependent on electricity. He he coming from me working at a power station. Superb capture Andrea. God Bless.

How romantic, defrosted dinner by candle light! It is a lovely image. What's that about clouds and silver linings?

Ah, the olden days... Why can't you use an Iphone? Mine is an Android... but they are very similar. Pretty candlelight here. :)

What a beautiful warm image! We have regular "power saving" cuts here in SA. I will definitely NOT start knitting a new garment by candlelight!!! I had a good giggle!

A gorgeous tranquil mood from this relaxing light form, excellent shot too! It must make life hard for teenager's parents these days having electricity off. They're children don't know what to do with themselves without Xbox, Tv, computers and all electric goods. They may be happy for a while until the mobiles and laptops need recharging then chaos would abound.

Thankfully it was only 90 minutes .. nothing spoiled then in the freezer or the fridge. A beautiful composition. The owls on either side are quite fitting to the scene, and the little poodle figurine is a delightful addition. You've captured the scene so beautifully.
