Just thought I'd try to emulate morningglory and get some backlighting in this shot.
Captured 1/29/12, early afternoon, at the beautiful Rancho Los Alamitos Historic Ranch and Gardens in beautiful Long Beach, California.
Utterly ZOOM worthy.
The site, located on four acres, and situated next to the beautiful campus of the California State University, Long Beach, has an adobe ranchhouse, gardens, courtyards, hedges, sculptures, and a wide variety of BENCHES, and plants, mainly cacti and big trees, that have been around for eons.
Anyway, I snapped 324 pics while I was there, toiling in unwinterlike 80+ degree Fahrenheit heat, but found it worth it after viewing the results.

The grasses are wonderful against the sky, and the contrast of light-colored grasses with the darker clumps are finely matched. The wisps of cloud are beautiful counterpoint to the vertical grasses; and the sun---well, I'm so glad you left the flare in, as it not only adds to the power of that small but intense sun celebrating the whole shot, but it also adds that beautiful violet halo. A beautiful symphony of hues & vectors, with lots of open space and fine contrasts. Lush but open, and beautiful light throughout...
