Description
In the exhibit area, there were several booths where some of the most famous psychedelic poster artists of the 60's talked to fans, signed autographs & sold their art work. Stanley Mouse, Lee Conklin & the man in this photo, John van Hamersveld, were among them. He created many famous concert posters, perhaps the most famous & iconic of which, Pinnacle Indian, has been hanging, framed, on my wall for many years. He also designed many album covers, the most well-known being the Beatles "Magical Mystery Tour", the Stones "Exiles on Main Street" & Jefferson Airplane's "Crown of Creation". It was nice to be able to talk to him & let him know how much I have enjoyed his art work.
Though I've never made my living as an artist, I took many art classes in college & have been creating art all my life. Psychedelic art has been one of the very strong influences on me, along with surrealism, art nouveau, Asian art (Chinese, Japanese, Indian, Buddhist, Hindu), fantasy art & science fiction art. If these are genres that appeal to you, (danger, shameless plug ahead) please check out my other Renderosity gallery under the username eyeland.

Must have been cool talking with the artists who have created so much work that you love. The pink outfit in the background is kinda keeping with the psychedelic theme!

Great to see the artist behind the art. Enjoyed my visit to your other gallery. It is fascinating to see the influences different art genres has had on each of us that posts here on Rendo.

I like Pinnacle Indian, but have to admit I like the original Edward Curtis photograph better. Excellent photo of this well-known personality! I bet it was fun to meet him. Now I'm off to look at your other gallery!
