Description
The red Yaris on the right is mine and Flavia's, and the orange bus on the left belongs to the Public Transport Company of the city of Padova. The scene: the traffic light at about 100 metres from our apartment. The action: the traffic light was yellow, but across the road there was a jam, so Flavia, the driver at that moment, decided that, were she to go on in a wake of the car in front of us, she risked to be stuck in the middle of the road when the green light opened for the others. So she jammed the brakes on and stopped. The bus, that was tailgaiting us very closely, also jammed the brakes on, but first, it was a bit too fast, because it relied on our 'going in the wake' to pass during the yellow light (actually what we call a dirty yellow, almost red). And second the bus driver forgot that the bus air brakes make the bus jump forward, so he hit us lightly with the screen sweeper. He made a small dent under our backside screen sweeper. Since we didn't abuse him with nasty remarks about his family tree, he insisted to give us his name and reported the company insurance. In the end the insurance mechanic repaired the dent and also a number of scratches that were there before the bump for free.
Thank you for your kind comments.

Very cool stuff lady.

cool shot! Good that the bus came to a halt, before he walzed over your little Yaris and that no one was hurt :) After the first dent was in my car, I got somewhat relaxed about little damages ;)

Una storia a lieto fine, passato il momento di logica irritazione ! Una bella foto , fortuna ha voluto che il pulman fosse in tinta !

Great story Sandra. Way too close. As a bus driver he had no business to tailgate, and he should have anticipated the change of the traffic light. But it was nice of him to fess up. How do you like your Yaris? I have a 2008 which I love, especially now as the gas prices creep up toward $4 per gallon.

lucky you were hit at low speed,... I've been hit (a number of times) at high speed..there is a large amount of structural difference between the two!

Great shot and story (and I'm glad you refrained from commenting on the driver's family tree! LOL).

So, in the end you came out the winner on this one:) Good for you and Flavia. Neat story and pic.

well this cloistered, crammed capture certainly captures the impact of a minor collision. But this is also a sweeping impact-ful visual, a big abstract with sweeping forms colliding into each other; with saturated reds giving way to greens, to reflections, and to that blinding white light between the two vehicles. And , with the window-wipers, a sense of a metal installation in a museum. A very vital sweep of a shot, with a fascinating history: And I'm happy, like some of your viewers, that everyone came out ok, including you & Flavia. (Ie, no injuries!) Wonderfully giddy shot, and a wild ride in more way than one.

Only the green light and is always the main road! Good luck on the road!
