Hi everybody,
My name is Dana Pommet and my wife’s name is Josephine. I was born in Gloucester, Massachusetts, in 1942, and except for a tour in the Navy, lived there for most of my life. I retired to Delray Beach, Florida in December 2000. We love to travel and photography goes hand and hand with that. I went digital about 5 years ago and started posting November 22, 2008. I have met so many wonderful people on RR and that makes this whole process so much more interesting than just posting photos. Thanks for all the comments and keep them coming.
Update  January 2012: After hiding and denying my mild Dyslexia, for most of my professional life, and now fighting with its advancement – I want to thank you all for putting up with my poor typing skills and spelling problems. I know that my spell checker hates me and I now depend completely on audio books rather then actually reading printed books.  Life marches on!  ÂÂ

LOL @ Mike! Wow, Dana, that's a big fish! Excellent art, but you're right, that doesn't look too comfortable. Thanks for the dedi!

Nice of you to dedicate this for my honey, she does like those benches, when she was here with me, we could hardly go three feet without Dee capturing EVERY bench along the route LOL!... Very ornate thing here Dana, don't look too comfy though.

Actually 800 lb of black walnut is a highly likely candidate for theft.

It looks very uncomfortable but just right for tying your shoe laces,I agree with Whaleman Over here in the UK it's worth a lot of money.

I should think it's probably bearable if one sits astride it!

LOL@Mike.....We have a botanical garden that opens up every spring here in my home town and some artist with exceptional talent basically did the same thing with old logs as they are carved to resemble certain types of fish that are known to be in the surrounding lake.If my memory is correct there are at least 20 various types of carved benches around the entire garden in various locations. If health permits me this spring I'll attempt to snag a few pic's and share them here...Always enjoy your captures Dana!

OMG, what hath Norman Radin wrought? Great piece of work on the log, a labor of love without a doubt, Dana. But I don't know if it could pass for a koi, considering the lack of fins. As the previous commentors said, it doesn't look too comfortable, but it is a terrific conversation piece. And, finally, thanks for the dedication! This inspires me to post some more bench and koi pictures.
