Description

...Two explorers have been forced to make a near-crash landing, and have become accidental intruders in the otherwise tranquil life in an oasis on the desert moon. "Nussaen" is the fourth moon of the Tanurs planet. Mostly a desert, large areas are barren of significant lifeforms. This is not the case around the"oases" scattered in large numbers around the moon. Human researchers have not found it as interesting as its larger fellow moon of Nerbja, which is more habitable and shows more variation in the ecosystems. Still, always looking for new discoveries and living space, Nussaen is also subject to quite a bit of exploration. Two such explorers have had a minor machine failure of their small transporter/explorer ship, perhaps overheating. Enough to force them down, not actually crashing but close. Now what...? Related "Nerbja" sci-fi scenes: "Clouds Across the Moons (2004)" thumb_748537.jpg "Clouds Across the Moons #2" thumb_750080.jpg "Swamp on Nerbja (2007)" thumb_1404890.jpg "Jungle on Nerbja (2010)" thumb_2047523.jpg Recreation of an old painting by me (1980 - no longer in my possession) - I've been wanting to make this for some time. I liked the idea of this earthlike yet alien environment and animals :) Vue, Poser and Photoshop. Items from DAZ, C3D, and myself. Thanks for viewing - comments always welcome and appreciated. Have a nice day - Lars

Wow! Very nice render. Love the head distortion over the engines. I think I know what happened though. Water pump pulley quit, spraying coolant all over the engine, and buggering up the serpentine belt. Yip, I've been there.

This is a really great illustration. I say illustration because it so clearly tells a story, and an interesting one at that. I want to see what happens next. I like what you've done with the alien flora and fauna a lot. It seems neither improbable nor too familiar. And the posing is just excellent. I think the only critiques I would have are that there are spots that look a little overexposed and the shadows seem a bit harsh, though that could easily be explained by a difference in atmosphere. I hope you do more from this series, and show what comes of this unexpected detour.

Nicely done...excellent scene, details and posing...maybe a little damage to the ship from the rough landing, but other than that I cannot find anything to fault in this stellar scene...very well composed and rendered!

Very well constructed scene, lots of visual noise to make it look natural. Could you tell me what the object on the right side of the picture at the water's edge is? I thought it was a stump, but it appears to have a face.

Nice details, I noticed the heatwave distortion from the engine of the craft. Interesting sharpness effect applied to the rocks and trees makes them feel alien.

Great work on this very interesting sci-fi scene - lots of detail as always - great posing - a picture saves a 1000 words - this one tells the story adding much more than the words

Well this is certainly different. A refreshing change (though you are aware how much I enjoy your landscapes) which proves you can never be accused of being a 'one-trick wonder'.
