Description

Something a little off track from me: A Poser render :) otherwise I use Vue exclusively for rendering, as some of you may know. My "main computer" is at the repair man, after I've backed up my stuff (HD problems). But why not have a go at Poser which I have on my old machine (2 gHz, 1.5 gb ram - too small for Vue IMO). A little cliche-naive scene maybe, but it's fun to work this way also, not least because I got to use some stuff I've never used before. Some kind of story is suggested, well, make up your own :) Poser 7 render (IBL/AO lighting model with one "sunlight"). Items from DAZ, the characters are V3 RR, V3 RR male morph, M3 RR and Young Teen "Luke". Some corrections in Photoshop. Thanks for viewing, comments etc. always welcome and appreciated. Have a nice day - Lars

Really nicely done Lars! as usual! hope your main computer is up and running soon. Love the way the material banners are twisted, not a huge fan of the horse for some reason..

Narh, I'm not too happy about the horse myself, it's the LoRez horse from DAZ, looks OK as such, but...

It turned out very well! The way the sword is broken, it reminds me of the Shards of Narsil. I think you meant your old machine has 1.5Gb RAM, not 1.5Mb.

Excellent scene, even if it is done on an old machine, realistic lighting, great job

I don't think this looks cliche at all. I actually wonder what's going on. Who are the combatants and what are they to the woman and child? Why does the one conceding look like he hasn't been fighting at all? This is great lighting for Poser 7. I actually rather like the shape of the horse. Before reading about it, I thought it looked much more realistic than usual. Looking closer, I can see issues with the texture, but overall it seems to me like a big improvement over the DAZ horses (the low res animals sold at DAZ are made by Predatron). Great work!

Lars, when I was looking at this picture you made, in my mind I was thinking you made this in vue then saw it was uploaded in the poser gallery...I am impressed on the level of realism you have achieved using Poser. Poser rendering engine has never been realistic enough for me to do renders alone (lack of atmosphere model or raytracing issue?) Hope you get your other computer running. Again well done here.

Fabulous Poser work. I'm particularly impressed with the lighting (the main reason I prefer Vue is for the atmospherics, and the vegetation, and the camera flexibility, and .... you get the idea). The scene has your usual elements of intrigue, put together with panache (as always). Wishing you a speedy return to Vueland...
