UPDATED: September 19, 2010
Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

It's probably little surprise, but I LOVE a shot like this. It's a place I've never visited, so I love having the chance to get a good look. Thanks Bill. P.S. I see Clint Eastwood still hasn't given FIREFOX back!!!!!!
durleybeachbum
I reluctantly admit it does look quite interesting! A super shot.

I agree with Andrea, must be interesting to go round!!

Thanks for posting this, Bill. The LearAvia intrigued me - I found that by searching Wikipedia with the aircraft nunber (N626BL) they had a good article. BTW, is that a DC-3 (in its many designations) behind the LearAvia?

Stunning image with so much to see Bill. What really caught my eye is the red car. Is it one of those flying cars that a number of makers experimented with from the late 40' to the 70's. If so do you know what make?

Great light falling on that SR71 there Bill. Blackbird singing in the dead of night Take these broken wings and learn to fly, all your life You were only waiting for this moment to arise

Cool shot.

That is such a great room. I bet it presents special challenges for the folks who do the lighting, but having those window walls is pretty spectacular. Excellent shot!

Natural lighting is a lot cheaper, I'm sure; maybe by shooting in there at night it would be easier to control the light? It's lovely, coming through all that glass, and this shot is certainly most excellent!

Well done - what a great place, they have an amazing collection.

Well Bill, it looks like you've got yourself a thesis to write, considering all the requests concerning all the objects in this photo. And, I must say, excellent work with this extremely difficult subject - as you say, the lighting. And wide angle, to boot! The most challenging must have been the SR-71. I enjoy seeing the flying car again. I remember when it was touted as the next great thing in transportation technology. Considering all the drivers who can't behave ON the road, imagine having them LANDING on the road, er, hopefully! I expect you have more photos of this, ready to post. Keep up the good work! :-)

Wonderful natural lighting as well as a great POV of this awesome museum Bill!!

Cool clarity and lighting effects on display in this fine foto, Bill. I immediately recognized the SR-71 Blackbird, but some of those others I'll have to research out. BTW, there is a museum setting on my Pentax SLR, but I haven't used it yet.

Great capture Bill. Everything seems to be surrounding the SR-71!

What an amazing assortment of flying machines! This is superb, Bill! I really love the lighting - it almost looks as if they're all flying in formation together! Although I doubt the biplanes would be ahead of that Blackbird!
nikolais
wish I could see something like this in Russia.. great image, Bill!
danapommet
A beautiful room to show off that Blackbird plus all the other planes!

Museum lighting is always challenging. I visited the Museum of Flight on a sunny day and there was no way to avoid checkerboard shadow pattern from the skylight. Glad to see the M-21 Blackbird (an A-12 variant) up on pedistals. A very cool way to see the underside and keep the tires in good shape.
