Description
Beyond cool.
Captured 10/24/10, at the 9th Annual Wings Wheels Rotors & Expo, held at the beautiful Joint Forces Training Base (JFTB) in beautiful Los Alamitos, California.
ZOOM a must.
Five out of a total of 22 pics I took of this beautiful venerable beast at the show. A real crowd magnet, especially among the guys and photographers. More of these to come.
Actually, it was never around back in 1936, having been recently built based on the design of the Indy racers back then, using modern equipment.

What a fantastic collage Harry, this is one cool looking car.

At first glance it looks like a souped-up tractor; on closer examination, it becomes apparent that no tractor ever dreamed of being this fleet and shiny, although it seems a little high for safe cornering. A wonderful confluence of shiny swoops and flares, beautifully captured for our eyes, Harry.

Looks like a straight eight of huge displacement...I picture the pistons looking like #10 cans:) Super pics...sharp, colorful, clear and each one nicely composed.

That's a really fine looking beast of a racer you've found there Harry! attracting some attention and I can quite see why as well.. I can also see why you mention when I post a car picture, something about it being on 'grass'.. Sitting on a concrete pad here as it is and being a 'racing silver', doesn't bring out the colours well does it!.. Shame about that.. But, thats not your fault, thats folks who organise events like these.. Grass seems to be better and you'd think easier on the cars? BUT GREAt collage mate.. Well found and taken.. LIKE! Rob

in addition to the wonderful captures, angles, povs, you have a very intense almost chrome-white light which brings out the powerful light of this beast. The red is great contrast to all the silver, you brought it out very strongly and it's a fine choice. And though I can "track" your angles (ie, seeing that you're in the front, side, etc), you're verging on abstract photography here because the shapes, swoops and curves are practically captured as visual entities unto themselves. It's a real melange of shapes & swoops & swirls. And the angles on 2, 3 & 4 are stunning---a lot of visual action in that little car---and the 5th is kind of a 'goodbye', with the tail standing high & proud, a wide shot of the area---so we can see some 'normal' cars for comparison---and the American flag. (And a nice wheel shadow too.) Really amazing combo, of a great looking car, and the angles really make it a piece of abstract metal art. A wowser!
