Happy Easter to you all! April 8, 2012
Photo by me of the huge mosaic in the absid of Lund Cathedral, above the main altar. It is called the “Last Judgement” mosaic and was made by the Danish artist Joakim Skovgaard between 1925 – 1927. It was Skovgaard’s last great work and the largest mosaic of its kind in northern Europe. There are several million small mosaic tiles that make up the mosiac.
To note is that there are NO condemned souls in the mosaic! The theme is resurrection and being welcomed to heaven – a reflection of the Easter message of salvation!
For those who don’t know/understand-
Jesus came into the world specifically to rise from the dead in order to prove to humans that it’s the BODY that wears out and dies, NOT the conscious “me, myself and I”.
People who have had near-death-experiences or out-of-body-experiences know this is a fact, however, for all those poor folks who have not had such experiences, the most powerful testimony to this is a dead person rising from the dead. Jesus HAD to die in public, on a big holiday when as many people from all over the world visiting Jerusalem would be witnesses to His death. A spear through the heart IS FINAL. They were also witnesses to His return to life by His appearing to huge crowds who had witnessed his death.
So, where do we go after slipping out of a worn out or damaged body? Into the 6th dimension. Sub-elementary particle physics and astro-physics are pointing towards its existence. It is even now known that energy and matter can disappear into the 6th dimension, and reappear from it. It is an energy dimension with other laws than our 3-dimensional part of the universe. This explains why Jesus could walk through walls and doors as though they didn’t exist, and appear/disappear as He saw fit. It also explains His miracles (mind over matter, and mind directing energy).
So, isn’t this good news worth celebrating?!
Happy Easter to you all!

Impressive! In fact VERY impressive work! A real labour of love.. (Or if you think in a mercenary way, a large wage packet!) But, I think not in this case.. Perfectly lit, did you use flash? Well done! An excellent post mate! Rob

Lovely mosaic and an interesting explanation of the metaphysical world of religion with what modern science has to say about the 6th dimension.

Happy Easter to you! Wow, that is one elaborate mosaic, and it's very beautiful. I'm having a little trouble getting it oriented in space. Is it flat or rounded? Is that a wall or the ceiling? Those wires hanging down hint that it's a wall, but it's kind of an optical illusion. Thanks for sharing it with us.
