Description

I know this is not a good picture, but I thought you would like to see a little of where I shoot the eagel pictures. I went to the other side of the very wide river, so forgive the lack of quality. I marked the places I was at to shoot from above the nest. The trees no longer let you see the places I sit, stand, slide...... Any way the places I have marked are about 175 feet behind the nest. The circle on the far left is the nest. The tree the nest is in is about 75 tall, maybe more.

Oh, my. This really puts the whole thing into perspective. I see now how the trees leaves are now blocking the view from your vantage points. 175 feet is a good distance. And the chicks could see you and be so curious - good eye sight! It seems you don't quite have a clear view from this side of the river either. Or, you could set up your camera on a tripod on this side and try for some long shots. This photo is great in itself. The only other option to get photos would appear to be tree climbing - tough, and possibly too close for comfort as far as mom and dad are concerned. Keep up the good work. I hope you can find a way to get a few more "close" photos. :-)
