Description

This little girl came in today. She is very frightened as you can see in her eyes. I can feed her, hold her and love her, but it will be several days before she stops calling for her mommy. It will break my heart to hear her call every time she hears a noise. This is not for the faint of heart.

I know whats that like, a cat I rised from very little was like that, he would cry out for his mommy, but she was no where to be found...you see some &$#@% took hime from his mother way to soon and dump him were I work...I took him care for him...he grew very attached to me...

I couldn't do it. Hearing an animal cry like that is too much to bear! I don't know how you make it through with these critters, my friend. Walking that fine line between rehabilitation and domestication must be a hard, hard thing. Best of luck with this baby ... she's a cutie!

Thanks for posting this, and for taking the photo. Who is holding her, and who took the photo? I bet the camera in itself was frightening (big, black thing with this HUGE eye staring at me. Help! Mommy!). Following her over time could be an interesting series of photos for the rest of us (as is your series with the eagles) - to see how she develops, matures, gets along with others, and gets into mischief (with the intelligence of a 3 year old, I assume there's a bit of that, too). She's afraid here, but not clinging. Interesting. Keep up the good work! :-) (Wish I could help)
