Description

FILM. 1998 One of the world's truly beautiful places IMHO. Photos really don't do the scale of the place justice. From the Colorado river, I couldn't even see the sides of the canyon.

This is very different from most canyon shots and I like it a lot! It really is an awe-inspiring place.

Not only does a picture not portray this giant well...niether does sitting on the rim. To really experience the "Grand canyon", you must go down into it's depth. One of the first things I did upon living in Flagstaff...hike rim to rim! Like this image for it's detail of the Tonto plateau, very nice! What month is this Andrew? During the cooler months the "Page" power plant is a huge air polluter! It's the only time I've experienced not being able to see the other side of the canyon.

An Outstanding POV and capture! Almost feels like I'm standing on the edge.

An interesting & dramatic POV. I've seen lots of photos of the Grand Canyon, but this one seems pretty unique in both perspective & color...

That place is HUGE! I have a pebble from there: and it's bigger than my head! I don't think that the Grand Canyon has anything "small" in it's intrinsic makeup. And to top it off, you captured this fragment of it with film and I think that's absolutely, totally fitting. I love digital photography, but something like the Grand Canyon needs the old school National Geographic treatment which only film can deliver. I really like the gradations of color and form in this: your photograph is as layered as the rock strata of that river-carved canyon. This is impressive.

An awesome capture! I once read that it is (on average) 1 mile deep, 10 miles wide and 100 miles long. Great POV!
